Gender Equality in Public Enterprise Boards

Today, December 19, the Kosovar Gender Studies Center held the conference “Gender Equality in Public Enterprise Boards”.

Keynote speakers at the panel were: Luljeta Demolli, Executive Director, Kosovar Gender Studies Center; Sami Zeka, Deputy Minister of Economic Development; Shpend Emini, Executive Director, Democracy for Development Institute and Rozafa Ukimeraj, Secretary General at the Ministry of Local Government Administration.

During the conference we discussed the initiative to amend the Law on Public Enterprises and the inclusion of the quota for the representation of women on the boards of public enterprises. This conference was organized within the framework of the project “Young Women Involved in Political Parties and Processes” managed by the Kosovo Center for Gender Studies and funded by the European Union Office in Kosovo and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Office in Pristina.
